How to play
Nine letters sit around a wheel with one in the centre. Build as many words as you can, following three rules: each word is at least four letters, each word uses the centre letter, and you can only use a letter as often as it appears. Tap the letters or type a word, then press Enter. The headline goal is the one nine-letter word that uses every letter.
A new puzzle every day
Each day brings one fresh word wheel — the same puzzle for everyone, so it's worth comparing scores. Play on screen, then optionally publish your result (with a name or anonymously) to the day's leaderboard. No sign-up, and your progress is saved on your device.
Great for vocabulary, at home or in class
The word wheel is a quick, satisfying way to stretch spelling and vocabulary — popular with teachers, parents, tutors and anyone learning English. Play on screen, or print a wheel as a clean PDF with answer lines for the whole class, plus an optional answer key on page two.
FAQs
Quick answers
What is a word wheel?
A word wheel is nine letters arranged around a central hub. You make as many words as you can — each at least four letters and each using the centre letter — and try to find the single nine-letter word that uses every letter.
What are the rules?
Words must be four letters or longer, must include the centre letter, and can only use each letter as many times as it appears on the wheel. Plurals and proper nouns are not counted. There is exactly one nine-letter word.
Is there a new puzzle every day?
Yes. A fresh word wheel appears each day — the same puzzle for everyone — so you can compare scores on the leaderboard. Come back tomorrow for the next one.
Can I publish my score?
Optionally. After playing, add a name (or stay anonymous) and publish your result to that day’s leaderboard. It only shares your name and score — nothing else.
Can I print the word wheel?
Yes. Use “Print PDF” for a clean A4 or US Letter sheet with the wheel and answer lines, or “PDF + answers” for a teacher copy with the full solution list on page two.
Does it support UK and US spelling?
Yes. Switch between UK and US with the toggle. Either spelling is accepted as you type, and found words show in your chosen spelling.
