Worked example

A parent preparing home practice for a Year 1 child might type "My name is Amelia. I am six years old." into the practice text, pick Patrick Hand at a 7mm band, and choose one trace row plus two copy rows. The engine produces an A4 PDF with the first sentence on the top half and the second sentence on the bottom, each with a traced guide and two blank rows for independent writing. The child completes the sheet and has a personal page to show at bedtime.

Methodology

The engine takes your typed text, splits it into lines (one sentence per line of input becomes one row group on the sheet), and renders the trace row in the selected handwriting font. Word wrapping handles long sentences automatically so they paginate onto multiple pages if needed.

Trace rows render in light grey for pencil over-tracing; copy rows print with 4-line ruling only. If you leave the text empty, a safety placeholder ("Practice writing") prints so the sheet is never blank. The shared branded PDF template applies consistent header, footer, watermark and QR.
