What this tool does
A printable daily routine checklist split into a Morning section and an Evening section. Each section lists your repeatable tasks down the left and gives a tick box for every day of the week. Print a morning and evening routine on one page
The daily routine checklist is a printable template built around the two moments of the day that make or break everything else: the morning and the evening. The top half of the page is your morning routine, the bottom half is your evening routine, and each task gets a tick box for all seven days of the week.
Because both routines live on a single sheet, you can pin one page to the fridge, the bathroom mirror or a child's bedroom door and run the whole day from it. Download it as an A4 or US Letter PDF and print as many copies as you need.
Why a printed routine checklist works
A routine you can see is a routine you actually follow. A printed checklist removes the decision-making from the busiest parts of the day, so mornings stop being a negotiation and evenings stop sliding into screen time.
- Children get independence — they read the next step instead of asking "what now?"
- Adults build consistency — the same five evening tasks, ticked off, every night
- Households share the load — anyone can see what's done and what's left
- Habits stick — a visible streak of ticks is its own reward
Unlike a habit app, a sheet on the wall never needs unlocking, never buzzes and is never forgotten in a pocket.
Kid and adult presets
Two one-click presets get you started in seconds:
- Kid — wake up & make bed, brush teeth & wash face, get dressed, eat breakfast, pack school bag in the morning; pack bag for tomorrow, dinner, bath, brush teeth and read & lights out in the evening.
- Adult — make bed, water, shower & dress, healthy breakfast, plan top three tasks and a quick tidy in the morning; tidy the kitchen, prep tomorrow, skincare, screens off and read or journal in the evening.
Both presets are just starting points — load one and edit any line to match your real day.
What you can customise
- Page title — default "Daily Routine Checklist" or rename it for a specific person
- Section labels — keep "Morning" and "Evening" or rename to "AM / PM", "Before School / Before Bed", etc.
- Morning tasks — type your own, up to eight lines
- Evening tasks — type your own, up to eight lines
- Paper size — A4 or US Letter PDF
The grid automatically resizes the rows to fit however many tasks you enter, so a short five-step routine and a fuller eight-step one both fill the page cleanly.
Who the routine checklist is for
Parents and kids
Turn the morning scramble into a self-serve list. A child who can read their own steps gets ready faster and with far less nagging.
Adults building habits
Anchor your day with a fixed morning launch and a calm evening wind-down. Ticking the same boxes each night is how a routine becomes automatic.
Teachers and carers
Use it as a visual schedule for classroom arrival and pack-up routines, or as a structured daily record in care settings.

Tips for making the routine stick
- Keep each routine to five or six steps — short lists get finished, long lists get ignored.
- Print a fresh sheet each week so there's always a clean grid to fill.
- Put the sheet exactly where the routine happens — bathroom for teeth, kitchen for breakfast.
- For younger children, pair the words with a quick doodle next to each task.
- Celebrate a full week of ticks before tweaking the routine.
Designed for A4 and US Letter printing
The two-section grid scales cleanly to both A4 and US Letter, so families in the UK, US and elsewhere get the same tidy layout without anything overflowing the page.

FAQs
Quick answers
Is this a fillable PDF or a printable template?
It is a printable template — you tick the boxes by hand. Print a fresh copy whenever you start a new week.
How many tasks can I add to each routine?
Up to eight tasks in the morning and eight in the evening. Five or six per section usually works best so the boxes stay big enough to tick comfortably.
Can I use it for an adult routine, not just kids?
Yes. Load the Adult preset for a grown-up morning launch and evening wind-down, or type completely custom tasks for either section.
Can I rename the Morning and Evening sections?
Yes. Change the section labels to anything you like — AM / PM, Before School / Before Bed, or a person's name.
