A friendly first-day worksheet

The All About Me worksheet is a classic back-to-school activity that helps children settle in and gives teachers a quick window into who is sitting in front of them. Each child writes their name and age, lists their favourite things, describes their family and sets a goal for the year, then draws a self-portrait in the large picture box. It is calm, low-pressure work that any pupil can complete on the first morning of term.

Every sheet comes out of the same branded template, so it prints cleanly on A4 or US Letter and looks consistent with the rest of your classroom resources.

What the sheet includes

• Name and date — optional header fields for classroom filing.
• Age and birthday — quick identity fields at the top.
• Favourites — ruled boxes for favourite things and favourite food.
• My family — space to describe who the child lives with.
• My goals this year — a forward-looking box to spark a conversation.
• Draw yourself — a large blank box for a self-portrait.

Choose which sections appear

Not every class needs every box. Switch the favourites, family, goals and draw-yourself sections on or off so the sheet fits your year group and the time you have. With fewer sections the remaining boxes grow to fill the page, so younger children get bigger lines to write on and a larger area to draw.

How to use it

1. Type a title — keep "All About Me" or personalise it for your class.
2. Toggle the sections you want and the Name & Date fields.

4. Download or print — it is ready for A4 or US Letter.

Classroom ideas

Use the completed sheets for a getting-to-know-you display on the wall, or have pupils read one fact aloud to introduce themselves. The goals box works well revisited at the end of term so children can see what they achieved. It also makes a gentle ice-breaker for supply teachers, clubs and the first session of a new group.
