Quick This or That cards in seconds

'This or that?' choices are one of the fastest ways to get a class talking, voting and getting to know each other. This generator lays out a grid of cut-out cards, each printing a short either/or choice such as 'Beach or Mountains?' drawn from a built-in list. Pick a theme, choose how many cards you need, and print — every card has dashed cut lines so they are easy to snip out and pass around.

The choices are written to be classroom-safe and inclusive, so they work for circle time, the start of a lesson, a transition between activities, or a five-minute brain break.

Choose a theme

  • Mixed — a shuffled blend of every category.
  • Everyday — simple preferences like books or movies, morning or night.
  • Food — tasty either/or choices everyone has an opinion on.
  • Seasons — summer or winter and other weather-and-season choices.
  • Animals — cats or dogs, lions or tigers, and other favourites.

What you can customise

  • Number of cards — from a single page to a full deck.
  • Theme — keep it focused or shuffle the lot together.
  • Name & date — add fields when pupils keep their own card.
  • Reshuffle — press Generate New for a fresh draw from the list.

How to use it

  1. Pick a theme and the number of cards you want.
  2. Toggle the Name & date fields if pupils will keep a card.
  3. Preview the live PDF and press Generate New to reshuffle.
  4. Download or print, then cut along the dashed lines.

Classroom ideas

Hold a quick vote — pupils move to one side of the room for each option, then explain their choice in a sentence. Use a card as a daily journal starter, a partner-talk prompt before a lesson, or a 'find someone who chose the same' mingling activity. The cards also make a calm, screen-free brain break when energy dips.

FAQs

Quick answers

Are the choices suitable for children?

Yes. Every choice is drawn from a built-in, classroom-safe list and is written to be light-hearted and inclusive, so the cards work for primary and lower-secondary groups.

How many cards fit on a page?

Six cards print per page in a two-by-three grid. Choose any number of cards and the tool spreads them across as many pages as needed.

Can I get different cards each time?

Yes. The cards are drawn from the list using a shuffle, so pressing Generate New gives you a fresh selection. Pick a theme to keep them on one topic.

Do I need to laminate them?

Not at all, but laminating after cutting along the dashed lines makes a reusable deck for circle time, ice-breakers and brain breaks.
