What you can customise
The generator lets you tailor worksheets to match your teaching goals or practice needs. Each worksheet can draw from one or more of the eleven available topics, and you control how many problems appear on each page.
- Topics — addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, mixed operations, time, money, measurement, fractions, decimals, or multi-step reasoning
- Difficulty — easy (single-digit or small numbers), medium (two-digit ranges), or hard (larger numbers and compound steps)
- Problem count — specify how many questions per worksheet
- Worksheet count — generate multiple unique sheets in one PDF
- Answer key — toggle to include or exclude solutions at the end
- Worksheet title — add a custom heading for classroom branding or differentiation
How to use the tool
- Tick the topics you want: one for focused practice, or several for mixed review.
- Choose easy, medium, or hard to match your learners' current skill level.
- Set the number of problems per worksheet and how many worksheets you need.
- Decide whether to include an answer key at the end of the PDF.
- Optionally type a custom title to label the worksheet.
- Click generate and download your branded PDF, ready to print on A4 or US Letter paper.
Who these worksheets are for
Teachers
Use the generator to prepare differentiated maths homework, warm-up sheets, or timed assessments. Generate multiple versions in seconds to prevent copying, or create a bank of practice problems for intervention groups.
Parents and homeschoolers
Print a handful of problems for after-school practice or holiday revision. Adjust the difficulty week by week as your child builds confidence, and use the answer key to check work together.
Tutors
Quickly assemble question sets that target specific weak areas — time word problems one week, multi-step reasoning the next. The consistent PDF layout keeps sessions focused on maths, not formatting.
How the question bank works
The generator uses a deterministic random-number algorithm seeded by your session. Each topic draws from a procedural template: names, items, places, and numerical parameters are chosen at run-time, so every worksheet feels fresh. Addition questions adjust the addends according to difficulty; time problems scale clock ranges; money questions format currency correctly. The same seed always produces the same questions, which means regenerating with identical settings will yield an identical PDF — useful if you lose a printed copy.
Worked classroom example
A Year 4 teacher selects addition, subtraction, and money, sets difficulty to medium, and requests 12 problems per worksheet with an answer key. She generates three worksheets in one PDF. Monday's warm-up uses sheet one; Tuesday's exit ticket uses sheet two; Friday's quiz uses sheet three. Because the problems are procedurally varied, no two questions read identically, even within the same topic. After marking, she refers struggling pupils to the answer key and assigns a fresh easy-level worksheet for homework.
Teaching tips
Start with a single topic at easy difficulty to build confidence, then layer in a second topic at medium once routines are secure. Use the answer key not just for marking but as a worked-example reference: ask pupils to explain why the answer makes sense before moving to the next question. For timed practice, print worksheets without the answer key and reveal solutions only after collection. If pupils finish early, generate a second worksheet at the next difficulty level to extend learning without waiting for the rest of the class.
Designed for A4 and US Letter printing
Every PDF is laid out to print cleanly on both A4 and US Letter paper, with margins that accommodate most home and school printers. The question text is sized for readability, and the answer key appears on separate pages at the end so you can choose whether to distribute solutions. No scaling or cropping is needed — send the file straight to the printer or save it to your lesson-planning folder for future use.
FAQs
Quick answers
Can I mix multiple topics in one worksheet?
Yes. Tick as many topics as you like, and the generator will draw problems from each selected category. The questions appear in a shuffled order, creating a mixed-review worksheet.
How many problems can I put on one worksheet?
You control the problem count using the slider or input field. The generator will paginate automatically if the number of questions exceeds what fits on a single page.
What makes easy, medium, and hard different?
Easy uses small whole numbers (single-digit or low teens). Medium steps up to two-digit ranges and introduces more complex scenarios. Hard uses larger numbers, compound steps, and trickier logic.
Will the same settings always produce the same questions?
Yes, when you use the same seed. The generator is deterministic, so identical inputs yield identical worksheets. Change the seed or any setting to get fresh problems.
Can I print the answer key separately?
The answer key always appears on its own pages at the end of the PDF. Print only the first pages if you want to withhold solutions, or print the entire document and separate them manually.
Does the generator check for duplicate questions?
The procedural templates and random-number algorithm make exact duplicates extremely rare within a single worksheet, but the generator does not enforce uniqueness across all possible outputs.
Can I edit the question text after generating the PDF?
No. The PDF is final once generated. If you need different wording, adjust the topics or difficulty and regenerate, or use the custom title field to add context at the top of each sheet.
