Expanded form

The student rewrites the number as a sum of its place values, e.g. 348 becomes 300 + 40 + 8. This reinforces the multiplicative structure of our base-ten system.

Worked example

Set the range to 100–999 and include Expanded form, 10 less / 10 more, Even or odd, and Round to 100. The featured number might be 462. The student writes 400 + 60 + 2 for expanded form, 452 and 472 for ten less and ten more, marks it as even, and rounds it to 500. The answer key confirms every box.

Methodology

The engine draws a random whole number inside your chosen range (avoiding immediate repeats where the range allows) and computes each selected task from that single number. Numbers are formatted with comma separators for readability, the number-line and tally boxes are drawn for the student to complete by hand, and every sheet is rendered through the shared branded PDF template with an optional answer key.
