What this tool does
Generate printable angle worksheets in three modes: identify angle types (acute, right, obtuse, reflex), measure angles with a protractor, or calculate missing angles on straight lines (sum to 180°) and around points (sum to 360°). Every problem prints with a small diagram showing two rays from a vertex. Choose the number of problems, maximum angle size, and whether to include an answer key.

What you can do with Geometry: Angles Worksheets
This generator creates practice sheets for three core angle skills. In identify mode, each problem shows a drawn angle and asks students to classify it as acute, right, obtuse, straight, or reflex. In measure mode, students use a protractor to measure the angle shown in the diagram. In calculate-missing mode, the worksheet presents angles on a straight line (summing to 180°) or around a point (summing to 360°), with one angle given and the student finding the other.
Each problem includes a small diagram rendered directly in the PDF, so there's no need to sketch angles by hand or source separate images. You can generate pure identify sheets, pure measure sheets, pure calculation sheets, or select mixed mode to combine all three types on one worksheet.
What you can customise
- Mode — identify, measure, calculate-missing, or mixed
- Problem count — between 4 and 20 per worksheet
- Maximum angle — clamp the largest angle to suit your lesson (60° to 360°)
- Answer key — toggle a second page with correct answers
- Worksheet title — replace the default heading with your own
- Name and date — show or hide fields at the top of the page
How to use the tool
- Pick your mode: identify, measure, calculate-missing, or mixed.
- Set the number of problems (4–20) and the maximum angle size if you want to limit the difficulty.
- Type a custom title if you're creating a series or want to label the worksheet for a specific class.
- Decide whether you want an answer key printed on a second page.
- Click Generate PDF.
- Download and print on A4 or US Letter paper — the layout adjusts automatically.
Worked classroom example
A Year 6 teacher preparing for an angles unit creates a 12‑problem worksheet in mixed mode with a maximum angle of 170° (to avoid full 360° reflex angles that might confuse beginners). The first four problems ask students to identify angle types from diagrams. Problems five through eight require protractor measurement. The final four present missing-angle calculations: two on straight lines (one angle 65°, find the missing 115°; another 132° and 48°) and two around a point (known angle 240°, missing 120°; known 95°, missing 265°).
She enables the answer key, prints one copy for herself, and photocopies 30 question-only sheets for the class. Students work in pairs, using transparent protractors for the measurement section and mental arithmetic or short jottings for the calculation section. The mixed format keeps the lesson varied and reinforces the connection between angle vocabulary, physical measurement, and algebraic reasoning.
Who these worksheets are for
Primary and secondary teachers
Use them as starter activities, main tasks, or homework. The ability to cap the maximum angle lets you differentiate for different sets without creating separate resources by hand.
Homeschool parents
Print a few problems at a time to introduce protractor skills or revisit angle facts before moving on to more complex geometry. The diagrams save you from drawing angles freehand.
Tutors
Generate targeted practice for individual students. If a learner struggles with reflex angles, set the maximum to 180° and focus on acute, right, and obtuse first.
Why angle diagrams matter
Textbooks often show one or two example angles per page, forcing teachers to sketch extras on the board or photocopy from multiple sources. This generator draws every angle fresh, with consistent ray length and vertex placement, so students see a new set each time. The diagrams are clean enough for protractor work — ray endpoints extend to the edge of the bounding box — and varied enough that students can't memorise answers from previous sheets.
Designed for A4 and US Letter printing
The PDF engine detects your paper-size preference and adjusts margins and problem spacing accordingly. Diagrams, prompts, and answer boxes stay readable whether you print at home on US Letter or at school on A4. No content is clipped, and no manual scaling is required.
Notes and limitations
- Diagrams show single angles (two rays from a vertex). The tool does not draw composite figures like triangles, quadrilaterals, or intersecting lines with multiple labelled angles.
- In calculate-missing mode, each problem gives one known angle and asks for one missing angle on a line or around a point. It does not generate multi-step problems with three or more angles.
- Identify and measure modes cap angles at 180° by default to avoid confusion between reflex and non-reflex when measuring. You can override this by raising the maximum angle slider.
- The answer key prints classifications ("acute", "right", "obtuse") and numeric answers ("65°", "115°") but does not show worked steps for calculations.
FAQs
Quick answers
How many problems fit on one page?
Between 4 and 20, depending on your selection. Diagrams and prompts scale slightly to fit, but more than 12 problems may look crowded. Most teachers use 8–12 per sheet.
Can I print the answer key on a separate page?
Yes. Tick the "Include answer key" option and the PDF will add a second page listing the correct classification or angle measurement for each problem.
What does "maximum angle" do?
It caps the largest angle the generator will use. Set it to 90° for acute-only practice, 180° to exclude reflex angles, or 360° to allow full-circle reflex angles. The default is usually 170°.
Does the worksheet show degree symbols and labels on the diagrams?
No. The diagrams are unlabelled rays from a vertex. In measure mode, students add the degree reading themselves. In calculate-missing mode, the prompt text states the known angle value.
What's the difference between angles on a line and angles around a point?
Angles on a straight line sum to 180°. Angles around a point (a full turn) sum to 360°. In calculate-missing mode, the generator picks one context or the other for each problem and tells the student which rule to apply.
Can I mix identify, measure, and calculate problems on one sheet?
Yes. Select "Mixed" mode and the generator will randomly combine all three question types in one worksheet, with each problem clearly labelled by its prompt.
Will the diagrams print clearly enough for protractor measurement?
Yes. Rays extend to the edge of each diagram box with consistent stroke weight. Place the protractor's centre over the vertex and align the baseline with one ray to read the angle.
