One solution, verified
A logic puzzle that admits two answers is not a hard puzzle, it is a broken one, the solver reasons correctly and is still marked wrong. Producing genuinely unique puzzles takes more than producing puzzles that look right, so every grid here is run through a solution counter before it is issued and discarded if more than one answer exists.
That matters most for the puzzles people assume are simple. Binary puzzles and the smaller sudoku variants are the easiest to generate badly, which is why they are the ones worth checking.
Where to start if sudoku has not landed
Plenty of people bounce off sudoku and conclude logic puzzles are not for them, when the actual problem is the grid size or the fact that the content is digits. Nonograms produce a picture as the reward and reason from row and column counts instead. Hashi, slitherlink and numberlink are solved by drawing a route. Kakuro and KenKen put arithmetic back in for anyone who liked that part.
Going smaller also works: the 4×4 and 6×6 sudoku variants use identical logic in a form that finishes in a few minutes rather than half an hour.
Good for quiet, self-checking work
Because every puzzle prints with its solution, a pack of these works as settling work, cover work or something to leave with a group who finish early. A solver who is stuck is still reasoning, which is not true of most worksheets, and nobody has to be marked at the end of it.
