Maze Generator: Printable PDF

Generate printable maze PDFs with custom grid size, difficulty, and layout. Perfect, braided, or room-based.

Math Maze Generator

Print math maze worksheets where students solve arithmetic to find the correct path through the grid.

Christmas Maze

A maze carved into a Christmas tree. Three tiers joined by two-cell connectors, the tightest bottlenecks of any shape here.

Halloween Maze

A maze carved into a pumpkin. 164 mask cells, the densest of the seasonal shapes and the longest solve at any scale.

Seasonal Maze Pack

Five shaped mazes in one pack. Tree, pumpkin, egg, heart and turkey.

Maths Maze Puzzles

Solve arithmetic problems to choose the path through the maze.

Circular Maze

Concentric ring maze. Navigate from the outside ring to the centre.

Hexagonal Maze

Maze built on a hexagonal grid. Six directions per cell.

3D Isometric Maze

Maze drawn in isometric 3D perspective. Visually striking.

Letter-Shaped Mazes A-Z

Maze path contained within the shape of each letter of the alphabet.

Number-Shaped Mazes 0-9

Maze path contained within the shape of each digit 0-9.

Animal-Shaped Mazes

Maze within the outline of an animal. Cat, fish, or bird.

Heart-Shaped Maze

Double Maze Puzzles

Two interlinked mazes that must be solved simultaneously.

Island Maze Puzzles

Maze on a treasure-map island. Navigate from coast to centre.

Hop between stones across a winding river to reach the far bank.

Bigger is not the same as harder

The instinct is to raise the grid size when a maze proves too easy, but size mostly changes how long a maze takes, not how much thought it needs. Difficulty comes from branching, how many plausible wrong turns leave the true path, and how far each one runs before it dead-ends. A dense 12×12 can be much more stubborn than a sparse 25×25.

If a child is finishing everything instantly, try holding the size and raising the complexity first. If they are giving up, shorten the solution path rather than shrinking the grid.

Mazes that are secretly something else

Several of these use the maze as a wrapper for a different task. The maths and multiples mazes only open a route when a calculation is answered correctly, so the maze marks the work for you. The alphabet-order maze does the same for letter sequence, and the colour-by-path and word mazes turn the completed route into a picture or a word. These tend to hold attention much longer than a plain grid.

Shapes, themes and structure

The shaped mazes, hearts, stars, animals, dinosaurs, rockets, and the name-shaped maze built from any word you type, are the same puzzle with a reason to finish it. For older solvers, the structural variants change the solving strategy rather than the picture: braid mazes remove dead ends so wall-following stops working, one-way mazes add direction, and the isometric maze runs across multiple levels.
